Wingham ODE this weekend is ON! We have only had light rain so far so conditions are optimum. We will post any notices here if circumstances change and the event is not to run.

Clubs such as ours rely on the help of volunteers to keep our events going. Could you spare some time to give us a hand at our next ODE? You don’t need to be a rider or even own a horse, we will always find a role for you! Even better, bring a friend along to help too!

Parisian Thunder (Thor)

All riders are aware (or should be) of how many people give generously of their time, money and expertise to help in the successful running of any equestrian event. To reward those volunteers Eventing NSW successfully launched ‘Volunteers Rewards’ in 2011. For more information on the scheme click here and good luck to everyone.

Wingham 2012 ODE Latest

Don’t forget to enter the Wingham One Day Event to be held on 11th & 12th February. Entries close 26th January 2012 on Nominate – Click here.

Dressage, show jumping and camping and yards will all be located at the one venue at Dollys Flat. The cross country course is only a 3 minute ride from there on your horse and a shuttle bus will be running for spectators.

We are also planning to organise a show jumping practice day on the Friday before the event. More details will be posted later.

Great prizes are on offer for the event, including:

Ribbons, prizes and/or prize money will be awarded for 2nd and 3rd placegetters and ribbons will be awarded to 6th place in each class. Additionally ribbons will be offered to Juniors within Open classes.

Also we will again be running the Teams Competition again this year, as it proved to be very popular last year. Four per team ($30) and the best 3 scores count. Winners Take All! Enter on the day.

We have a special prize of a Stallion Service Fee to be won to Paris Hill (standing at Bellview Park). This will be awarded to the mare with the lowest total penalties in any class.

A raffle is also offered at $2 per ticket or 3 for $5 and the prizes are:
§ 1st Stallion Service Fee to Paris Hill
§ 2nd Hamper to the value of around $600, filled with equestrian goodies. Buy tickets with your entries or enter at the event.

7th-8th January Eventing Clinic Report

We had our best attendance at a clinic yet with 33 riders attending our January eventing clinic. Although the weather forecast predicted hot weather, we had two only warmish days. We welcomed some new faces along with our ‘regulars’ for cross country, show jumping and dressage sessions and the feedback we have received (during the clinic and since) has been very positive -about the quality of instruction and of the jumps and ‘going’ cross country. It is always very rewarding for us to see the improvement in the horses’ and riders’ confidence and performance over the two days.

There will be fabulous prizes on offer at Wingham ODE in February.
