Gloucester Show 28th March 2009

Although the Stock Horses received a drenching on the Friday, Saturday was perfect weather for this lovely little country show. Belinda took Madeline for a bit of fun at Gloucester. Snowy was Champion Led and Champion Ridden Appaloosa and, not to be outshone, Cosmos was Champion Led and Ridden Warmblood. In the show jumping Madeline placed 3rd and 4th on Snowy and Cosmos (below) respectively in the Junior and placed 4th on Cosmos in the Open 90cm class.

Hidden Valley ODE 21st-22nd March

Another great weekend at Hidden Valley (near Ourimbah) with fantastic weather and the grounds looking absolutely pristine and picturesque.

The girls from the Manning Valley took out the first three places in the Junior Introductory class with Madeline first on Snowy River, Marni Lawson from Mitchell's Island 2nd on Remi and Madeline third on Prince Harry.

Belinda rode Cosmos for his first start in Pre Novice to be in the placings.

Rhiannon Moulds and Yarramlea TC (below) placed 2nd in the Preliminary class, winning the Junior sections and the overall best performed junior in classes Preliminary and Pre Novice.

Scone Horse Trials 14th -15th May

We took two horses for a most enjoyable weekend at Scone. Belinda rode Mr Amigo (owned by Jane Allen and Gerry Phelan) who had his first start at Preliminary where he placed 5th. Belinda also rode Cosmos who performed very well but had two rails down in the show jumping which moved him out of the placings.

Camden Haven Ag Show 28th February – 1st March 2009

With fine weather over both days it was a very pleasant 61st annual Camden Haven Show over the weekend. Handled by Madeline, Snowy River was once again Champion Appaloosa (Note: Snowy is advertised on our For sale page). Cosmos won Reserve Champion Led Warmblood Exhibit. Madeline placed fourth in the Des Hollis Memorial show jumping competition (starting height 1.05cm) and won the Junior 90cm AM3 on the reliable Cosmos.

Australia Day Weekend 2009

Wingham Eventing Club held their first Summer Training School over the Australia Day long weekend. Participants from as far as Coffs Harbour and Dubbo made their way to Wingham to hone their eventing skills.

The first two days were extremely hot (40C+) and the most popular person was the one carrying the drinks! David Cooper (Australian Olympic Show Jumping Representative) coached show jumping, and instruction was also given in dressage (some riders opting for the cooler option of “virtual” dressage in the extreme heat of Saturday afternoon) and cross country riding.

Sunday was a much cooler day and the riders were assessed over show jumping courses at incremental heights, with great encouragement from Fiona Hughes (EFA Level 2 Eventing Specialist & Coach Educator) and Belinda Bailey. Given the panoramic visibility of the cross country course at Bellview Park, Fiona and Belinda jointly judged a Cross Country Equitation Class, giving marks to each competitor for each jump they attempted as well as collective marks for each round.

Thanks very much to everyone who attended and who therefore contributed to a very enjoyable clinic.
